Save the Date---Saves YOU Time!

Save the Date-An announcement stating the actual date of your wedding. Acts as a reminder for your guest and is sent at least a year in advance followed by a formal invitation.

Is the Save the Date necessary? From my point of view the Save the Date can be very convenient because it fulfills three things.

Master Guest List:

  • It encourages the bride and groom to create a Master guest list in advance. With so much on the agenda the guest list can be procrastinated on for multiples reasons. This can cause a delay in the mailing of the actual invitation. With the Save the Date being apart of the wedding planning agenda, this will encourage the bride and groom to create their guest list in advance. Note: Your guest list will go a long way because you will need it for seating purposes (if there is a reception) and to mail out your invitations and thank you cards; the earlier it is created the better!

Check your Guest Mailing Addresses:

  • If any of the Save the Dates are returned as undeliverable this will allow enough time for the bride and groom to find out the correct mailing addresses before the actual invitation(and thank you cards) are mailed out to their guest. This will save a lot of time and money spent on postage.

Guest Preparation and Accommodations:

  • Your guest will have more time to prepare for your special day. The last thing you want is for your guest to not have enough time to make arrangements for your wedding. Out-of-town guest especially would appreciate this because they would need more time make necessary accommodations such as hotel and flight booking.

Save the Dates can save you time and money. Stay tuned for more tips, information and inspiration!
